These four Hudson Valley poets have been plying poetry for many years and will read from their latest books at this special event.
MIKE JURKOVIC: A 2016 Pushcart nominee, his work has appeared in over 500 magazines and periodicals. MARY NEWELL's poems were published in BlazeVox, Dispatches from the Poetry Wars, Spoon River Poetry Review, The Hopper, Earth’s Daughters, Written River, About Place, etc. Her essay “Shades of Melancholy” appears in Melancholia: Hinge as Innominate Limina by Will Alexander, Heller Levinson, and Mary Newell. Her chapbook, TILT/ HOVER/ VEER is forthcoming from Codhill Press.
HELLER LEVINSON has published in over a hundred journals and magazines. His books include LinguaQuake, Tenebraed, Wrack Lariat, and from stone this running (Black Widow Press), Smelling Mary (Howling Dog Press), and Hinge Trio. He is the originator of Hinge Theory.
IRENE O'GARDEN'S writing has found its way to the Off-Broadway stage (Women On Fire, Samuel French), into hardcover (Fulcrum, Nirala) (Fat Girl, Harper) and into respected literary journals and anthologies. She’s received fellowships, residencies and awards for her work, including a Pushcart Prize for her essay Glad To Be Human. Her new memoir, Risking the Rapids: How My Wilderness Adventure Healed My Childhood is forthcoming from Mango in March 2019.
