Three interdisciplinary poets read their work:
Patricia Hemminger (MFA in Poetry and Poetry in Translation, Drew Unviersity; PhD in Chemistry, CUNY Graduate Center , MA, NYU’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program) is a science and environmental writer and associate editor of Pollution A-Z (Macmillan). Spillway, Parabola, About Place Journal, The Ghazal Page and Dragon Poet Review have published some of her poems.
Mary Newell’s chapbook, TILT/ HOVER/ VEER was published by Codhill Press in January 2019. Her poems were published in BlazeVox, Dispatches from the Poetry Wars, Spoon River Poetry Review, Entropy, Hopper Literary Magazine, Earth’s Daughters, Written River, About Place, etc. Dr. Newell (MA in English, Columbia University; MA in Biobehavioral Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University; BA Berkeley) received a doctorate from Fordham University in American Literature and the Environment. Kathryn Weld earned her MFA in poetry at Sewanee School of Letters in 2013 and her Ph.D. in mathematics at the Graduate Center of CUNY in 1984. Her poetry and prose has appeared in journals such as The Critical Flame, Connotations Press, The Midwest Quarterly, Southeast Literary Review, Valparaiso Poetry Review, The Cortlandt Review, and Bellevue Literary Review. She is currently at work on a full length collection on the theme of exile. She is a professor of mathematics at Manhattan College.
